A Tribute to Gilles Larrain

A monotype portrait tribute to my friend and artistic collaborator Gilles Larrain, celebrated photographer of 1970s New York City alternative culture, who has died at 86. Gilles shot portraits of stars like John Lennon and Miles Davis. But he is best remembered for “Idols,” an intimate look at a vital New York underground.
